About Me

My creative work explores scale, colour and theme. I am continually exploring new mediums while remaining loyal to my love of painting. I respond well to themes that I can research in depth; it is important to me to have a clear focus while also having the opportunity to investigate offshoots as research or creative opportunities arise.

Through repetition and experimentation, I can refine the final representation and discover different ways of working with materials to create a variety of effects. I also enjoy occasionally combining collage and painting. I am interested in considering the function of art and, more specifically, in creating emotional responses in the viewer.

I have a particular interest in contemporary art market dynamics, driven by my 20+ years of experience running events businesses. In addition to commercialising my artwork, I aim to use my events expertise and art education to introduce art to the local community. I work from my studio in Holgate, York, UK. 

I hold informal events in York specifically designed for ladies that have no experience of art and would like to try it in a relaxed environment. Get in contact for details.
